Our Regular Weekly Star Parties:
Saturday Night Stargazing

March 3-16 23: Globe At Night: See the Stars in New York City
A NASA/JPL Solar System Ambasador Event
GLOBE at Night is an annual 2-week campaign in March. People all over the world record the brightness of their night sky by matching its appearance toward the constellation Orion with star maps of progressively fainter stars. They submit their measurements on-line and a few weeks later, organizers release a map of light-pollution levels worldwide. Over the last four GLOBE at Night campaigns, volunteers from over 100 nations have contributed 35,000 measurements. Our goal in New York City and the surrounding area is to contribute 100 measurements. Come help us do it! Come to our events and make a measurement. Just sign up for the Google Group, Facebook Group, Facebook Fan Page, or Twitter to learn when we'll be outside. We need you to come help!

March 10: Fort Tryon Stargazing "First Light" Soiree
A NASA/JPL Solar System Ambasador Event

Stargazing returns to Fort Tryon Park in 2010 with the "First Light" Soiree - NYCParks' celebration of the debut of my Obsession 15" UC telescope. The Obsession will be the largest amateur scope available for free use by the public. Join me for a fascinating evening of star and planet gazing. Click Here for More Information.

April 6: Tuesdays in the Dome: Planetary Real Estate with Jason Kendall
A NASA/JPL Solar System Ambasador Event

On April 6 at 6:30 PM, Jason will be presenting the Digital Universe at the Hayden Planetarium.
We will tour the Solar System, taking up-close looks at our little neck of the Universe. We'll learn about the current space missions to Mercury, The Moon, Mars, Saturn and even Pluto. We'll learn about the Sun and its influence in our local neighborhood. Come join us on a tour of beachfront property for the 24th Century. Click Here for Tickets and More Information.

By far, one of the best ways to spend an evening is chatting about the night sky and looking at Saturn, the Moon, or distant nebulae and stars. After the closing of the the International Year of Astronomy 2009 right here in New York City, we will continue our programs for your enjoyment! All of these free and family-friendly events spread the joys of the evening sky, and help you to learn more about the nature of our Solar System and current happenings in Astronomy. Bring a coffee and a jacket and join us. We are outside under the stars every Saturday night in 2010.
