The Inwood Astronomy Project is officially part of the International Year of Astronomy. Jason took the idea to America's governing body of Astronomers at the meeting in St. Louis, Missouri on June 2, 2008. Jason will be reporting his results of getting the word out and helping educate Inwood residents in a paper presented in 2009. His proposal for 100 Nights of Astronomy was met with great interest by Astronomy educators and professional Astronomers alike. One of the central goals of the IYA is to get one million people worldwide to look through a telescope that have never looked through one before. We hope to get 5000 people to look through them in 2009 in our neighborhood. If we can do that, we will exceed the results of any other outreach program in the US. Think big, New York! Come on out and see what is up!

Come see what's up in the sky!
